The Pilot Frixion Ball is a thermo-sensitive gel ink pen which allows you to write, remove and rewrite without the use of a correction tape. The ink can be erased by using the rubber stud attached on top of the pen - all with the same pen. Rubbing the ink using the rubber created friction and heat, which causes the Frixion ink to disappear. If you have accidentally left your notes written with the Frixion series in a hot environment (e.g. car paked under the sun), don't worry, the ink will reappear if you store your notes under a low temperature (i.e. below -10°C). (Disclaimer: Do not use this pen for signatures, legal documents, examination papers or other documents where writing needs to be of a permanent nature).
